Improbable

RURAL and CALIFORNIA are not words usually connected.  Most people think of California as  one huge city with a constant buzz of movies, beaches and sunshine.  That's just the Los Angeles area.

My town and county are so far removed from that image we could be from the "fly over" states.  In fact my county is larger than the state of Delaware with fewer than 20,000 citizens.

We live in a mountain valley where some raise cattle, some raise horses or goats, and some run small businesses.  We all try to maintain small town life for our children and grandchildren.

Volunteering is common; it's just what we do. We participate in various organizations to serve our communities. We have to take care of ourselves and our neighbors.

Doing the daily tasks of life is important.  I plan to chronicle the exciting and the mundane, the new and the routine, the interesting and the annoying.  Some days I might write endlessly while other days I will barely have time to jot a note.  That too is life.
